Sleep Dep

Sleepiness is a constant part of my life. With a full time job, a wife, a dog and a parttime job as a target (hockey goalie)life just doesn't provide enough time for hanging about in my bed. And even when I'm there I'm often getting shoved out of it! Let me tell you, chihauhaus take up a hell of a lot of room, especially when they decide to stretch out and rake their claws down the back of your thigh.

My wife is a snuggler - this translates into me falling off the bed, as she cuddles up against my back and edges me closer and closer to the side. Eventually I've got one leg hanging over the edge, then two and then the dog kicks out and I'm on my ass and more than a tad confused as to what the hell just happened.

So, what happens after I get so little sleep? I start to have visual hallucinations, like weird little flashes of light, or movement at the grey edges of my vision. And my ability to follow a normal conversation goes flying out the window, rather like a psychotic budgie on steriods. I hear things that have no connection to what people have actually said. "I'm looking for winter boots" becomes "Where's the pirate loot". As you could imagine, not all that helpful when trying to aid a customer to find said winter boots.

Don't even ask what happens when I play five straight hockey games, after a sleepless night. Some things should just not be talked about in polite company.

What all this says is "GET SOME SLEEP". Or, if that doesn't work, go grab a Red Bull or Rockstar and pray you don't overdose on caffeine. 'Cause then the real fun begins...

Where the hell is our snow? Moving to the East, down to Toronto, from the West, namely Vancouver, I was warned about cold weather and lots of the white stuff. But apparently the world has gone and changed everything around. Vancouver is buried under snow and Toronto is dealing with mild temperatures and RAIN!!! Rain is supposed to be winter weather in Vancouver!!!!!! GAHHHH!!!!!

Question: How is one supposed to sell snow boots if it doesn't snow?
